I find subjects in scenes around me which make me think of painting - anything from a shadow cast on a lawn to a low resolution texture in a video game. I work alongside my surfaces and allow their individual features to become integral parts of the painting - warm cardboard, rough jute, and thick layers of gesso. My process always begins in observation but transforms through my own interpretation of subjects, utilising flat shapes, bold colors, and symbolism.
